After the kick-off workshop for the second phase of the GMES&Africa program, which took place from March 14 to 18, 2022 in Cotonou - Benin, the kick-off was marked by meetings organized by the African Union Commission with the project management teams at consortia sites.
Indeed, an AUC delegation paid the OSS a working visit, on March 21-22, 2022, in order to discuss, during meetings of exchange and presentation of the new objectives and expectations, the technical, administrative and financial aspects of this phase as well as avenues for promoting the achievements of the project first phase.
The main objective of the meetings was to reach the same level of understanding between the project teams, the stakeholders and the PMU. They also made it possible to strengthen the ties of collaboration between the stakeholders, to seek the adequate tools for overcoming the difficulties of the first phase and to establish common objectives for the success of the project.
During these meetings, the roles and responsibilities of all key players and the complementarity between the two phases of the project were pointed out. Informal, interactive and dynamic discussions, supported by short presentations supplemented the exchanges.
It is worth noting that the regional launch workshop for the GMES second phase in North Africa, was held from March 29 to 30, 2022, in Hammamet – Tunisia, and brought together the North African partners of the Consortium involved in this phase.
