Land

As part of its 2030 Strategy, the OSS aligns with the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021–2030), the UNCCD Strategic Framework (2018–2030), and the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework and provides decision-support tools to help policymakers and stakeholders prevent desertification, combat land degradation, and reduce the impacts of drought.

By promoting the use of Earth Observation and contributing to initiatives such as the Great Green Wall, it works to strengthen food security, safeguard ecosystem services, and curb migration pressures, while advancing resilience and sustainable development in Africa.
