Meeting with H.E. Mr. Mahamat Hano, Minister of the Environment, Fisheries and Sustainable Development of Chad

Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra met with H.E Mr. Mahamat Hano, Minister of the Environment, Fisheries and Sustainable Development of Chad on the occasion of their participation in COP27.

Both men examined the cooperation between Chad and the Sahara and Sahel Observatory that comes into effect through concrete initiatives, they put special focus on the design process of the project on strengthening the resilience of oases and local populations and highlighted the benefits of the project for the region.

The Minister recalled that Chad is one of the countries most affected by the climate change impacts. He called upon the OSS, in its capacity as a regional organization accredited with climate funds, to consolidate its support through other initiatives.
