At the invitation of the University of Twente, Mr. Amjed Hadj Taieb, represented the Sahara and Sahel Observatory in the training course on Vegetation and Drought Monitoring from Space, organized by the R&D EO Africa Facility (Research Innovation, Communities and Applications in Earth Observation), at the CRASTE-LF headquarters, on January 23 - 27, 2023 in Rabat (Morocco).
This training session aimed to help the participants have a better theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Earth Observation applied to the vegetation dynamics monitoring in response to climate hazards, in order to have more crop growing information for good food security planning.
This training is part of the cooperation between Europe and Africa, within the framework of the R&D EO Africa Facility, of the EO AFRICA initiative (African Framework for Research Innovation, Communities and Applications in Earth Observation). This initiative was launched recently by the European Space Agency (ESA), and aims to encourage the African-European partnership in the field of R&D, and to create an active research community and creative processes for a sustained development of EO capabilities in Africa.
