The workshop was convened in hybrid mode by the Regional Centre for Remote Sensing of the North African States (CRTEAN) and brought together the GMES&Africa project - North Africa Consortium members, in order to exchange and validate the results of the abovementioned regional study, carried out by CRTEAN under the project.
After the opening speeches of Dr. Hédi GASHUT, Director General of CRTEAN, Mr. Louis Evence Zoungrana and Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra, respectively the Representative and
the Executive Secretary of the OSS, the workshop was marked by a substantial and detailed presentation of the study results. Indeed, Dr. Fatma Trabelsi, CRTEAN-affiliated Geomatics expert, highlighted the currently prevailing situation in North Africa in terms of EO integration in the SDGs reporting and its use in support to the water and natural resource management.
The participating experts welcomed the initiative of conducting such a regional study that covers the 6 North African countries. They took the opportunity to issue recommendations
for the validation of the study results.
The workshop ended with the CRTEAN and OSS appreciation to the African Union, and all members of the GMES&Africa - North Africa Consortium for their contribution to the success of the study.
