The Institute of the Francophonie for Sustainable Development (IFDD), subsidiary body of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF) organized, from June 25 to 28, 2024 and in partnership with the International Center for Environmental Technologies of Tunis (CITET), a workshop on “Strategic prospective and training on access to sustainable finance: opportunities, skills and actions in the French-speaking area”, with the aim of supporting French-speaking developing countries in the access to climate finance.
Chaired by H.E. Mrs. Leila Chikhaoui Mahdaoui, Minister of the Environment of Tunisia, this event was marked by the participation of Mrs. Lorraine Diguer, Ambassador of Canada to Tunisia, Mrs. Haoua Acyl, OIF Representative for North Africa, Mrs. Cécile Martin-Phipps, Director of IFDD and Mrs. Kmaira Ben Jannet Mzali, Director General of CITET.
The Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) was represented by Mrs. Souha Ben Mehrez, who brought to light the mission of the Organization and highlighted its 2030 strategy. She stressed that the OSS role, as an entity accredited to the Adaptation Fund (AF) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF), is to facilitate the access of its member countries to these Funds and to mobilize climate financing through the implementation of approved projects.
