The GMES&Africa Program OSS-North Africa Consortium is committed to supporting Copernicus in unlocking the power of EO data in Africa.

As a Copernicus Relay and an institution committed to helping the users effectively uptake and value the Copernicus data through GMES&Africa, the Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) invites you to discover the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem portal, https://dataspace.copernicus.eu.

This platform is freely available and allows users to access archive and near real time Sentinel acquisitions through a user-friendly web interface without any prior remote sensing skills or specialized software for processing. It provides ready for analysis images and opens the possibility of fly visualization without need of download and storage.

The launch of the new Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem follows on the success of the current Copernicus Data Hub distribution service, which itself has achieved enormous success. The OSS thus encourages its partners to re-register on the new web portal and migrate their workflows to the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem.

Stay tuned for more use-cases on how to use such platforms for agriculture monitoring, burnt areas quantification, and much more, by visualizing the Sentinel imagery through this platform. To ensure a better ownership of this tool, the GMES&Africa Program OSS-North Africa Consortium will soon hold a demonstration session for its members and partners in North Africa and beyond.
