An OSS delegation, led by Mrs. Khaoula JAOUI, Climate Department Coordinator and including Mr. Aziz BELHAMRA, Project Manager and Mr. Youssef KRAIEM, Financial Manager, started, from June 14 to 16, 2022, the first part of the second supervision mission of the Adapt-WAP project in Ouagadougou. The Adapt-WAP project is funded by an Adaptation Fund (AF) grant, for a four-year period (2020-2024).
This mission coincides with the mid-term evaluation of the project that has just completed its second year of implementation.
The mission closely collaborated with the National Office of Protected Areas (OFINAP) project team, led by Mr. Benoit DOAMBA, Director General and National Coordinator of the project. Mr. Laurent SEDOGO, member of the OSS Strategic Orientation Committee took part in the works of the mission.
The delegation was received by the Minister of the Environment, Energy, Water and Sanitation (MEEWS), Dr. Maminata TRAORE COULIBALY, on Wednesday June 15, 2022. The discussions focused on the mission main conclusions, namely the immediate need for income-generating activities and the necessity to pay particular attention to women and young people who are becoming increasingly vulnerable to the insecurity in the area.
The second part of the supervision mission will be carried out in Cotonou until June 22, 2022.
