Burkina Faso, July 23-24, 2025
The second supervisory mission for the NB-ITTAS project was carried out on July 23-24, 2025, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, by Mr. Evence Louis Zoungrana, representative of the Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) and focused on reviewing the project progress, strengthening institutional collaboration, and aligning strategic priorities for the months ahead.
Hosted at the General Directorate of Water Resources under the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Sanitation, the mission began with a high-level meeting between Mr. Zoungrana and the Director General, Mrs. Nadège Flora DU BARRY/BATIONO. Discussions centered on deepening the partnership between the Ministry and the OSS to enhance the impact and visibility of NB-ITTAS activities in Burkina Faso, where results have already proven promising.
Working sessions were held with the National Project Management Unit, including National Focal Point Mr. Valentin TIAMA and team members responsible for technical and financial components: Ms. Fatoumata Sodré, Mr. Zéphirin Yogo, and Mr. Denis Bako. Together, they reviewed the implementation status of the pilot activities, financial management, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, and reporting systems. It was mentioned that the project is progressing according to plan and aligns with the expected outcomes.
A revised roadmap was established to guide activities through December 31, 2025, with a strong emphasis on capitalizing on achieved results and addressing the challenges identified during implementation. Concrete recommendations were made to improve the project performance and ensure timely delivery.
A new mission will be organized in the near future, dedicated to experience-sharing and assessing the impact of the actions implemented within the framework of the project.
