This meeting, organized by the African Ministers' Council on Water (AMCOW) in partnership with the African Union Commission, brought together representatives from major organizations such as the African Civil Society Network on Water (ANEW), African Renaissance (AR), the African Development Bank, the African Water Facility (AWF/AfDB), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), as well as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The main objective was to facilitate the exchange of experiences, define key messages, and establish a common position for Africa ahead of the 10th World Water Forum, while emphasizing the importance of gender and social inclusion in access to safe drinking water and sanitation in Africa.
