From November 6th to 10th, 2023, in Windhoek, Republic of Namibia, the Green Climate Fund (GCF) is organizing the Regional Dialogue with Africa. This event serves as a platform for engaging with various GCF partners to enhance their understanding of GCF priorities, policies, tools, and guidance, including the updates following recent Board decisions. It also provides an opportunity to stakeholders to express their priorities, challenges, and ideas concerning their engagement with the GCF.
The Sahara and Sahel Observatory, represented by its Climate Department Coordinator, Ms. Khaoula JAOUI, participated in a session discussing the new Readiness 2024-2027 strategy. During her presentation, Ms. JAOUI shared OSS feedback on the previous and ongoing Readiness projects, highlighting the significant accomplishments and challenges faced during their implementation, as a regional direct access entity. Furthermore, her intervention underlined the potential and positive impact of this new strategy in addressing ongoing challenges.
The OSS delegation will continue its participation in this dialogue till November 10th and will hold several bilateral meetings with representatives of the National Designated Authorities (NDAs) from various countries to discuss prospects and opportunities as well as the development of new initiatives.
