A CSE delegation including Dr. Taibou BA, Technical Director, Mrs. Thioro Codou Niang, Communication, Marketing and External Relations Unit Coordinator, Mr. Mouhamed Abdallah SALL, Climate Finance Unit Program Assistant and Mr. Al Hassan BA, Programmer, paid the OSS an exchange visit from January 23 to 25, 2023.
The overall objective of the mission was to hold discussions with the OSS, as an entity accredited to climate funds (Adaptation Fund and Green Climate Fund) on its information and knowledge management system and to take advantage of its experience and expertise in the implementation of climate change adaptation projects.
New synergies of action between the two organizations were also sought and identified, with a view to strengthening technical exchanges on topics of mutual interest to support the efforts of African countries to face the climate challenges. Both parties agreed on the development of an operational collaborative plan of action that aims at establishing an institutional coalition for African knowledge management.
Long-time partner of the OSS, the Centre de Suivi Ecologique (CSE) of Senegal is an institution that works on environmental monitoring, sustainable land management, support for land use planning and urban management. In addition, the CSE provides scientific and technical assistance in the decentralized management of natural resources, environmental and social assessments, poverty reduction efforts monitoring and support in the fight against the impacts of climate change.
