The 16th session of the Permanent Technical Committee (PTC) of the North Western Sahara Aquifer System Consultation Mechanism (NWSAS-CM) that was convened on December 17 and 18, 2022 in Tozeur, Tunisia, made it possible to go over the 2022 activity report, discuss the 2023 work program and have them adopted.
The organization of the ministerial meeting that aims at reviewing the draft Memorandum of Understanding to provide the NWSAS-CM with a legal status, the submission of new projects (SASS-IV and the Tunisian-Libyan Djeffara) to GEF-8 and the Adaptation Fund, and capacity building for hydrogeological modeling and Geographic Information System engineers, were also put to discussion and scheduled.
