Enhancing direct access for locally led adaptation in Africa: A milestone…
The meeting made it possible to look for the tools and mechanisms likely to simplify access to funding and to meet the climate change challenges, to fight against land degradation and to prevent the loss of biodiversity, in particular by valuing fieldwork and strengthening partnerships.
The event panelists discussed ecosystem restoration techniques as well as innovative practices for the development of African countries. The participants took the debates to put special focus on the Great Green Wall and report on the opportunities and challenges related to its implementation.
Mr. Eduardo Freitas, Regional Manager - Green Climate Fund, Mr. Anath Pathé Sene, Lead Environment & Climate West and Central Africa - IFAD, Mr. Rémi Hémeryck, SOS Sahel Executive Director, Mrs. Nicole Schwab, Member of the World Economic Forum Executive Committee, Mrs. Sarah Toumi, Program Management Officer - Great Green Wall Accelerator (UNCCD), and Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra, OSS Executive Secretary, took part in the event and made valuable contributions through testimonies and feedback.
The OSS would like to thank all the panelists and participants who opened up prospects for better ecosystem resilience to face the climate challenges ahead of the African continent.
