The OSS side event on “Early Warning Systems: An Effective Mechanism for Climate…
As part of the development of the BOUCLIER-CLIMAT/MONO regional project proposal for Benin and Togo, and in its capacity as Regional Implementation Entity to the Adaptation Fund (AF), the OSS organized in partnership with the Mono Basin Authority (MBA) and the Global Water Partnership in West Africa (GWP-WA), as well as the Ministries in charge of water, a regional consultation workshop on April 14 - 15, 2022 in Cotonou.
25 participants representing the project key stakeholders attended the workshop that aimed to complete, through a participatory process, the concept note to be submitted at the end of April 2022, to the AF for approval. The workshop specific purpose was to collect the expectations and needs of all participants and to agree on the priority aspects to be included in the concept note while taking into account the AF requirements.
The opening ceremony was marked by the speeches of Mr. Nicolas Dadja GNAKPAOU, Executive Director of the Mono Basin Authority, Mr. Jean Pierre FIOGBE, Benin-MBA Focal Point and Mr. Abdelkader DODO, Coordinator of the OSS Water Department. The workshop was officially opened by Mr. Emmanuel LAWIN, Chief of Staff of the Minister of Water and Mines of Benin.
The BOUCLIER project aims at strengthening the resilience of ecosystems and vulnerable communities in the Mono basin catchment through the development of adaptation capacities to recurrent flood risks and the promotion of sustainable and equitable water resources for the benefit of Benin and Togo.
