Healthy soils contribute to Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN)

The network of experts for monitoring land degradation in Africa has just been launched by the OSS/North Africa Consortium, on the occasion of the first GMES&Africa integrated management meeting, held from February 27 to March 1, 2023 in Nairobi.
The main purpose of this network is to ensure knowledge sharing and strengthening for the natural resources management professionals and experts, and to find real solutions to land degradation in Africa, by mobilizing the skills of the relevant specialists, through a continental land degradation mapping and monitoring service, covering the African continent.
This network supports cross-fertilization, based on the centralization and dissemination of all data shared by its users.
It is worth remembering that due to the precarious environmental situations led by drought and water scarcity in most African countries, the land is undergoing continuous deterioration over the years, which is deeply weakening the African ecosystems.
