CoP26 - Glasgow - Side event organized by the OSS "Data Quality and Availability in Climate Finance", ​​​​​​​November 9th, 4:00 pm - Climate Pavilion of La Francophonie Promotion of climate action


This event addressed and discussed the importance of data in the fight against climate change and the need to improve the quality and availability of data to strengthen resilience to climate change as well as the benefits of a synergy between indigenous scientific knowledge in the creation of databases and their role in improving the effectiveness of projects to combat climate change.

The discussions of this side-event were mainly marked by the interventions of Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra, Executive Secretary of the OSS, Mrs. Khaoula Jaoui, Climate Department Coordinator at the OSS, Mr. Abebe Tadege, Climate Change Officer at ICPAC, Mr. David Kerkhofs, Program Coordinator at the Humana People to People Organization and Dr. Chris Dickinson, Ecosystems Management Senior Specialist of the Green Climate Fund.

A 30-minute ‘Q&A’ session followed these interventions. It focused in particular on the “Mitigation-Adaptation” and “Climate Change” topics.
